Youth Hope & Recovery

A ministry for teens and young adults in Kailua-Kona facing addiction, depression, or hopelessness, and for the families walking through it with them.

Why this ministry exists

There are young people on this island fighting addiction, depression and hopelessness, and many of them are fighting without anybody in their corner.

This ministry exists to be that corner. It is the work closest to our pastor’s heart, and the thing our community asks for most often.

We want to be honest about where it stands. Today this is a faith-based support ministry, not a clinical treatment program. What we offer right now is mentorship, prayer, Bible counseling, and a community that will not walk away from a young person who is struggling.

We are working to grow it into something fuller, including direct connections to professional rehab resources, so that a family who comes to us is handed on to real help rather than a dead end.

What we offer right now

Mentorship
A steady adult in a young person's corner. Someone who checks in, turns up, and does not disappear when it gets hard.
Prayer
For the young person, and for the family around them. Nobody here is treated as a lost cause.
Bible counseling
Sitting down with Scripture and talking honestly about what is going on and what comes next.
A safe community
Friday youth group, Sunday worship, and a room full of people who already know your name.

Call the church. That is the whole first step.

Whether it is for yourself, your son or daughter, or somebody you love, you can call and talk to Pastor Nickson. Nothing is going to be reported, judged, or repeated around the church.
